DAVIDsTEA Iced Tea Press Review

Around these parts we LOVE our DAVIDsTEA Iced Tea Press. Oops I should have saved that for last, right?? But I can't! My kids and I love how fast we can make iced tea from our beautiful loose leaf tea without having to refrigerate for hours.

There are three parts to the Iced Tea Press. The Outer Sleeve, the Inner Sleeve and the Lid.

Initially, upon purchase, the inner sleeve may not want to separate from the outer sleeve! It takes some persuasion. It gets easier.

Fill the outer sleeve with two heaping scoops of your favourite loose leaf tea. We love to use the Perfect Spoon from DAVIDsTEA because it gets the right amount every time. If you're using sweetener you can add it to the bottom with your tea leaves. Just make sure to stir it once you make your tea. Fill the inner sleeve with ice. You could also add sweetener to your ice.

Boil the water according to the package directions. DO NOT OVERBOIL THE WATER!!! You will burn your tea leaves. See my post HERE for directions on how to properly steep your tea. We were making Forever Nuts, Just Peachy and Birthday Cake, all of which needed to be steeped at 96 degrees for 4-7 minutes.

Add your hot water ONLY TO THE FILL LINE.

Now you wait according to package directions...usually 4-7 minutes for herbals. We always stack our inner sleeve into the outer sleeve and put the lid on (open) while we wait.

Once the appropriate time has passed you are ready to gently push the inner sleeve down. The sieve at the bottom allows the tea liquor to push up into the ice. This is where the magic happens.

My little guy helped out!

Wait a few seconds for the ice cubes to cool the tea liquor and you're ready to go! Enjoy your freshly brewed iced tea!
